Norm Architects Inc. is an Istanbul based architectural design and
consultancy firm which was founded by Esin Tercan and Ahmet Tercan in İstanbul.
Established in 1990, Norm Architects Inc. provides commercial institutions,
municipalities, construction companies, industrial undertakings and private
individuals with services from the stage of feasibility studies to the
completion of interior details and facility management concepts.
Norm Architects aim to realize a holistic and spirited architecture, that is
sensitive to both environment and human needs, yet profits from the technology,
balancing aesthetic, programmatic, social, technical and economical
requirements of a project with a concern about context and emotive qualities of
land and material.
Norm Architects, believing in the multi-disciplinary philosophy of
architecture, associates with internationally recognized firms and consultants
depending on the nature of work, to integrate architecture, engineering, cost
consultancy, urban planning and interior design within the same studio to
achieve best possible results for clients.
In order to respond to more complex and demanding programs and varied
environments of the international development projects, Norm Architects Inc.
co-operates with Ceren Design Inc. for its experiences in urban design, and
2ER- CEI, Consultants International Engineers, for their expertise in
construction management and engineering services.

Founder, Lead Designer
Esin Tercan graduated from Mimar Sinan University, Department of Architects. In 1993, she established Norm Architecture Design Office in Istanbul
Esin Tercan carried out works within the body of Norm Architects, from small-scale buildings to urban design projects, in a diversity that includes different sizes and typologies. She worked intensively in the fields of health, education, transportation and accommodation projects and many of her designs were realized in Turkey and abroad.
Tercan, who won awards and honorable mentions in the architectural design competitions she participated in, and whose buildings were nominated for international awards, currently continues her architectural design works in her offices in Istanbul and Tivat.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tercan, M.Arch., Ph.D
Design Advisor
He was born in Istanbul. He completed his secondary education at Galatasaray High School. After graduating from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Architecture, he started working as a Research Assistant at the same institution.
He completed his Master's and 2nd Degree Master's studies in architectural design at MSGSU and New York Pratt Institute. He completed his doctoral thesis on “Sustainable Architecture and Energy” in 2000. He has published scientific articles in the field of technology and design theory.
Tercan, who has many implemented projects at home and abroad, won awards and honorable mentions in architectural project competitions he participated in. He still works as a lecturer at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and continues his professional activities.
